Closing This Chapter of the Bicycle Bread Company

Dear friends,
We’d like to update you on a big change with our bakery. We’ve decided to cease operations at this time. There are three reasons why:
This past month our wheat mill has been out of commission. It’s not financially sustainable for us to continue at our current location. Lastly and most importantly, I’ve realized that I’m unable to maintain the bakery at its current level given my day job and other responsibilities. The wheat mill being out of commission has given us the opportunity to step back and evaluate where we are at.
Being a part of our community and neighborhood through the bakery has been an incredible blessing. That said, we’ve decided to shift gears. The Bicycle Bread Company with its current structure, location and schedule will be ceasing to operate. We are praying for God’s guidance in what is next for BBC.
We would like to say thank you to all our friends, supporters and customers! It has been amazing to be on this journey with you. Ben and I started this bakery 5 years ago with a desire to serve in our neighborhood and share the love of God – we couldn’t have imagined what an amazing adventure it would be!
We have been so blessed by the many opportunities to serve with other organizations and ministries in our neighborhood – spaghetti dinners each year through with the high school runners in SRLA, hosting field trips to the bakery, high school interns, college interns, partnership with theNehemiah House, John Tracy Clinic, 24th Street Theater, Raymond Community Garden, South LA Christian Life, World Impact, ANNA, WAHA, UNIDAD, West Adams Moms Club, and many others! We deeply value the relationships we have been able to have with our restaurant friends atBacaro, Mix N’ Munch and Blu Elefant! And to the many volunteers who spent countless hours baking and biking with us – you’re always in our hearts!
